Come to Our Adoption Center

The North Shore Animal League Adoption Center is open 365 days a year. This 17,000 square foot building houses, approximately 350 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Our complex includes 42 indoor dog runs, a bright and spacious atrium where potential adopters can become acquainted with their potential companions, an area reserved for counselors and prospective adopters to complete the application process, a family waiting room, a nursery, a medical examination room, and a grooming area where new admissions are health checked, vaccinated, bathed and groomed.

Visitors are reminded that adoption is a lifelong commitment. After selecting a pet, each potential adopter is thoroughly screened to ensure that they understand the life-changing commitment a new pet can be. To date, close to 1,000,000 pet owners have met our high standards and adopted a pet from North Shore Animal League America.

Our mobile adoption unit visits locations throughout the tri-state area, and you'll get the same first class help when adopting from our mobile unit.
