North Shore Animal League America Receives $20,000 Grant From Maddie’s Fund
Recently, Maddie’s Fund, the largest foundation in the world supporting the welfare of companion animals has generously granted the Animal League $20,000. This benevolent grant will assist our mission to “Rescue, Nurture and Adopt” homeless animals into loving homes. It will also benefit the collection and publication of annual shelter statistics relating to our work with the New York City Mayor’s Alliance, an agency which rescues and finds homes for animals in the five boroughs.
The Mayor’s Alliance is just one of several hundred animal shelters and rescue groups participating in our multi-state Cooperative Adoption Program. Over the years, this successful effort has facilitated the adoption of thousands of companion animals.

This table reflects the numbers and statistics for the animals that North Shore Animal League adopted into permanent homes in conjunction with the New York City Mayor’s Alliance. The collection and publication of this data is sponsored by Maddies Fund, www.maddiesfund.org
This represents a percentage of the total number of animals that North Shore Animal League places into homes each year, approximately 20,000 pets.
