January Thoughts

Hi to all of you animal lovers...

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am so excited to share some very exciting things that are happening this year. Our annual TOUR FOR LIFE and ADOPTATHON 2008 will be bigger and more exciting than ever. Our adoption journey across America kicks off on April 1st with the grand finale at NYC’s renowned FAO Schwarz on April 26th, and Adoptathon weekend is May 3rd and 4th. In addition, we are already planning 2008's DogCatemy Awards Gala for November. It has become such a huge event for us, and it just keeps getting better and better. I've already lined up some great celebrity videos!

As for me, my appearances will start up again on NBC's “Today In New York.” I can't wait to take our three two-legged Chihuahuas with me this Friday with their brand new carts and show everyone how well they are doing. They are such little celebrities, being talked about nationally on major TV and print publications. It is so wonderful to see three little survivors thriving when they were almost euthanized for not being perfect. They are showing the world their strength and joy. All of these animals deserve to live their lives. I love that the League stands by their NO-KILL philosophy.

I have decided to take part in the New York 2008 Marathon and run for North Shore Animal League America. I cannot think of a more exciting goal for myself. I am going to run with a team, so I encourage any of you runners out there to run with me for the most special cause. E-mail me and I can give you the specifics. Needless to say, November is going to be a very big month for me!!!

I am getting ready to brush Bianca's little bulldog teeth. Everyone should take care of their pets' oral hygiene. By doing this, you can add years onto their lives. It is so important. If you don't know how to do this, ask your vet. I am going to be doing a segment on “Today In New York” on this topic very soon. Bianca has volunteered her services for the demonstration!
