Happy Halloween

October 31, 2007

Hi friends. Bradley here with another exciting update from North Shore Animal League America. Some neat stuff has been happening over here, and I thought I’d share it with ya, in case you don’t already know.

First of all, I went for the best walk yesterday. It’s so crisp and cool outside now – I love it. I want to get really excited and run, but you know the deal…. wheezing and all. Sometimes it’s really hard for a young dog to act like a mature adult. But I’m a gentleman. I even admire nature. For example, on my walk, I saw the prettiest hedge ever. It was yellow and gold and red and glistening in the sun. So I peed on it! Ha! My hedge!

Another neat thing that’s going on is that in the Foster Care Ward where I’m staying, two mommy dogs had babies!! The place is overflowing with tiny little puppies that chirp like hungry birds. It’s sooooo cute. I tried to get some of them to play with me, but all they want to do is eat and sleep. Not a bad plan, actually. Oh, and that reminds me that it’s almost time for me to chew something up. Where’s that tennis ball? I know I had one around here someplace...

Also, before I go flip my water bowl over and spill the water all over the place and stomp around in the puddles and drive everyone crazy, I wanted to mention that one of my very favorite holidays is coming up… Halloween! It’s so much fun to dress up and pretend to be something fantastic! This year, I have the best costume in mind. I’m going to be a healthy dog that lives in a big house filled with loving family who can run and jump and play as much as he wants and never cough at all. Ahhh, it’s gonna be great.

And lastly, I wanted to mention that I just celebrated my one year anniversary here at the League. It’s really strange to think that one year ago, I was a helpless, little, lost puppy in Tennessee. Then like a dream come true, I wound up at the League and got love and attention and became as healthy as I could be and became a star. Wow – that one year really went by fast.

Ok, gotta go. That water bowl is just begging to be flipped. Happy Halloween everyone! Stay safe and save some candy for me!

Tricks and Treats,

Bradley

My Adoption Requirements, the Ice Princess and Crickets Are Neat.

**Crrricket crrricket. Crrricket crrricket** Hey everyone! Bradley here, and I’m practicing my cricket chirps. See, I was digging in the dirt the other day – digging and panting and digging and digging and dirt was flying everywhere – when the biggest cricket I’ve ever seen jumped up out of the grass! It was humongous! It was as big as my head…. well, it was more like the size of a small rock, BUT it was better than a rock cause it jumped up into the air, and so far, none of the rocks I’ve seen ever jumped no matter how much I’ve barked at them. It was awesome! I put my paw on it (hee hee – it felt kinda icky. I loved it) – and when I took my paw off, the cricket jumped off into the grass. I tried to sniff it out, but it got away. I wanted to play “chase the bug,” but he hopped off. Maybe next time he’ll stay and play awhile.

Oh, know what else cool happened? I got the best email from a little girl who wants to be my super special friend! Her name is Kaylee, she’s from Gaylord MN, and she’s 11 years old. She wrote me such a neat e-mail, that I thought I’d share it with everybody:

“Hi this is ice-princess. i love bradley and all of the other animals that you have in your shelter but i have been keeping my eye open for the Bradley updates. I have got every e-mail and up-date on bradley ever since when he told us about himself the first one and when he got his surgery then to the next one to tell us how it went and every other one that you have put up about him. I am so sorry that i can not adopt him i really want to but I already have 2 dogs and 1 cat. I would adopt him but i know that my parents would say no .If i had maybe 1 dog or no animals they would say yes to me. Tell bradley that I love him with all my heart and I am so verry sorry that I can not take him home with me. I would be very happy to have an e-mail back from him talking to me and telling me more about him and how it is going with him. I personly think that all of you people working at the animal shelter are so nice and wonderful to be helping animals from all over. I am going to become a vet some day to be just like you and help animals too. I have been an animal lover since the day I was born. If I was all grown up and done with collage i would love to come to the animal shelter and help you guys out. Bradley is really a sweet dog and I think that it is wonderful that you guys are doing your best to help Bradley out but also all of the awsome wonderful animals. No animal should be put through such pain and suffer that people have put these animals through just like that little chawowia that those people just wanted to keep making babies so that there starts to be something wrong that is just crule. i can not belive that people can be so mean to animals, I see animals laying on the road like a cat on the road ran over and I think if someone accidently ran it over or if someone knew it was there and did not care that they ran it over. Well I think that you guys are very helpfull to the animals in your shelter and i will be hoping to be hearing from bradley and you guys soon!!!!”

Isn’t she awesome? She’s so cute; I just want to lick her on the nose!

I also want to let you all know that we’re still looking for my perfect pet parent. I really hope someone comes along soon that has the ideal environment for all my special needs. Please visit: www.animalleague.org/bradleyreqs for a full list of important adopter requirements. Maybe YOU can adopt me!!!

Thanks everybody for being so super. I’ll see you next time with another exciting Bradley blog entry. Hee heee. I’ve always wanted to say something like that.

Bugs and Cookies,

Bradley
