Pippin's New 'Leash' On Life

Recently, North Shore Animal League America has had the pleasure of meeting a warm and loving dog named Pippin. Pippin is a beautiful five-year-old female American Pit Bull Terrier mix, and though her face looks happy, her heart is not.

Sadly, Pippin's loving owner had passed away. Without understanding what was happening or why, Pippin found herself upheaved from her every day happy life of long walks, daily kisses and familiar surroundings. Life as she knew it had changed. Without rhyme or reason, Pippin was in a strange place, and her loving master was nowhere in sight. Pippin was in a municipal kill-shelter, alone and frightened and void of a certain future.

When the Animal League rescued Pippin, we could tell that she had been someone's loving friend and loyal companion. Her kind disposition suggests that she was certainly man's best friend and a stellar pet. The gentle expressions on her sweet face told a story of love, loss and sadness.

Our impressions of Pippin were right. She has been a pleasure since she came to the Animal League. She is a very loving and affectionate dog - one who is anxious for companionship and very eager to please.

At five-years-old, Pippin is still very active. She loves to go for walks and run around in the park. Though she's not wild about cats, she does get along well with other dogs, but prefers to make the decision of which dog, on her own.

When Pippin first arrived, she had a mild skin infection - perhaps from stress or anxiety but Pippin's skin and coat, as you can see, is looking just lovely. Her condition is much improved and she is available for adoption.

Pippin is going to be the perfect pet, once again, to someone very special. Won't you please open your heart and home to her? It's time for this girl to be happy again.

Don't Let What Happened To Pippin Happen To Your Beloved Pet

To ensure your pet a protected future, North Shore Animal League America has a program for pets whose owners pre-decease them. It's called the Safe Haven Surviving Pet Care Program, and it may save your pet's life one day. This program makes sure that your pet goes directly to North Shore Animal League America - and no other shelter.

North Shore Animal League America is the largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption facility in the world. In our care, your pet will be safe from the tragic reality of euthanasia and will be cared for physically and emotionally for as long as it takes to provide them with a loving home. There is no time limit here, no questionable future. Your pet is given a safe and loving environment with a state-of-the-art Medical Center, run not only by a team of animal experts, but by animal-lovers.
