Become a Purrrr-fect Company Volunteer

North Shore Animal League America understands the unique power of the human-animal connection and has created a visitation program through which people with special needs can enjoy all of the emotional and physical rewards of being in “purrrr-fect company” with loving cats.

IF YOU HAVE:

• A STRONG DESIRE to brighten the lives of residents in nursing and rehabilitation settings and specialized day centers by visiting these facilities with registered cats as part of an animal-assisted activity program
• EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS and a belief in the healing benefits of animal companionship and love

PLUS YOU ARE ABLE TO:

• COMMIT TO 4 HOURS A WEEK (Monday through Friday)
• PROVIDE YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION to and from the assigned facility
(you must be 18 years old with a valid driver's license)
• BE TRAINED and teamed up with a NSALA sanctuary cat qualified for animal-assisted activities
• BE RELIABLE AND DEPENDABLE for those who rely on these special visits from the cats
