OFFICIAL RULES - NO PURCHASE OR DONATION NECESSARY. A PURCHASE OR DONATION WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. YOU MUST HAVE INTERNET ACCESS AND A VALID E-MAIL ADDRESS TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROMOTION.

Open to legal residents of the U.S., including the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older as of 9/1/08.

1. TO ENTER: Beginning 12:00:01 AM, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) in the U.S. on 9/3/08 and through 11:59:59 PM, EDT in the U.S. on 10/12/08 ("Promotion Period"), follow the directions provided at http://donate.animal-league.org/campaigns/2008/name-our-cat-dog/, to enter by providing your email address, name and complete home/mailing address, including zip code (P.O. boxes not accepted), plus your suggested name for the cat and dog featured above. Limit one entry per email address/person per day (12:00:00 AM EDT - 11:59:59 PM EDT). Any person who attempts to participate with multiple emails and/or different home addresses, under multiple identities or uses any device or artifice to register for, or enter the Sweepstakes multiple times in violation of this limitation, will be disqualified and will forfeit any prizes won.

   In addition to entering the Sweepstakes, entrants will be encouraged to make donations to North Shore Animal League America, which funds will be used for animal welfare and animal rescue; however, a donation will not increase your chances of winning the sweepstakes.

2. WINNER SELECTION/ODDS: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected in a random drawing conducted on or about 10/13/08, from all eligible on-line entries received. The drawing will be conducted under the supervision of an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The suggested name for the Cat and Dog provided by the Sweepstakes Winner may be used for those animals, but the Sponsor reserves the right not to use the names provided. Regardless of whether or not the Winner's suggested cat and dog names are actually used, the Winner will receive the prize.

3. PRIZE: One Grand Prize - A two (2)-day/ two (2)-night trip for two (2) to New York, NY to attend North Shore Animal League America's DogCatemy Celebrity Gala on 11/6/08. Prize consists of round-trip air-travel for Winner and guest, two (2) nights hotel accommodations (at a hotel in New York, NY, as determined by Sponsor), and two (2) tickets to North Shore Animal League America's DogCatemy Gala on 11/6/08. Winner and guest must depart from the major airport nearest the Winner's residence and return to that same airport. If Winner is unable to attend the Gala on the date specified, the Winner may be disqualified and an alternate Winner may be selected. Any travel expenses/elements not listed above will be the Winner's responsibility. (Grand Prize ARV = Up to $2,000 - actual value will depend on location of Winner's residence).

4. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: Open to legal residents of the U.S., including the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older as of 9/1/08. Employees, officers and directors of North Shore Animal League America, its affiliates, promotion and advertising agencies, those associated with the development, implementation and distribution of this promotion and their immediate families (spouse, children, parents, siblings, regardless of where they live) and persons living in the same household of such employees, whether related or not, are not eligible. Void in Puerto Rico, U.S. territories and possessions and where prohibited.

5. GENERAL RULES: Sponsor's computer is the official clock for all purposes of this Sweepstakes and participation is subject to the Sponsor's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use found at http://www.animalleague.org. If you do not agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use do not register for/enter the Sweepstakes, provide any personal information on the web site or otherwise use the web site. Sweepstakes is subject to federal, state and local laws and regulations. Potential Winner will be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release and where legal, Publicity Release within five (5) days of attempted notification. Noncompliance may result in disqualification. Winner's Traveling Companion/guest will also be required to execute a liability release prior to travel. Entrants release Sponsor, its affiliates, agencies, and assigns from any liability and/or loss resulting from participation in the Sweepstakes or acceptance and/or use or misuse of the prize. North Shore Animal League America makes no warranty, representation or guarantee regarding the prize. By registering and entering the Sweepstakes, entrants are agreeing to these rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects. By acceptance of prize, the Winner agrees to Sponsor's use of their name/likeness and biographical information for advertising, trade, and/or promotional purposes for this or a similar promotion without further notification/compensation, except where prohibited by law. No mechanical/automated devices may be used to register for/enter the Sweepstakes. Sponsor and its agencies are not responsible for computer malfunctions or technical issues of any kind. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify anyone tampering with the web site or registration/entry process. No more than one (1) prize will be made available to be won in the Sweepstakes. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned by reason of damage by computer virus, worms, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical limitations or failures, or any other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, could compromise, undermine or otherwise affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right in its absolute discretion, to modify these Official Rules and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. In the event of termination or cancellation, Sponsor will proceed with the Sweepstakes and make the one (1) prize available in a manner which is deemed by Sponsor in its sole discretion to be fair, appropriate and in accordance with these Official Rules. Sponsor and its agencies assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, or unauthorized access to the web site. Sponsor and its agencies are not responsible for injury or damage to participants' or to any other person's computer, other equipment, or person relating to or resulting from participation in the Sweepstakes, or from downloading materials or accessing the web site. In the event of a dispute over the ownership of an email address, the name registered with the related Internet service provider will be used.

   GENERAL CONDITIONS: Participants agree (a) that Sponsor, its parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents (individually and collectively "Releasees") are released, will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by participants against any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind (whether due to negligence or otherwise) to person(s), including death, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of the prize or participation in this Sweepstakes or any Sweepstakes related activities, and, (b) Winner grants permission to Sponsor and those acting under its authority the right to the use of his/her name, picture, likeness, voice, biographical information and statements, at any time or times, in perpetuity, for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes without additional compensation (except where legally prohibited), in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and on the Internet and World Wide Web, without notice, review or approval.

   LIABILITY LIMITATIONS: Releasees are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or non-delivered entries or e-mail; or for interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), Web site, telephone or other connections, availability or accessibility, or miscommunications, or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, or lines, or technical failure or jumbled, corrupted, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures, or technical errors or difficulties, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic or network or the incorrect or inaccurate capture of registration, entry or other information or the failure to capture, or loss of, any such or similar information. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of this Sweepstakes, as solely determined by the Sponsor, will be disqualified. Any use of robotic, automatic, macro, programmed, third party or like entry methods will void all such entries by such methods, and disqualify any entrant using such methods. Releasees are not responsible for injury or damage to participants' or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or downloading materials from or use of the Web site. Should any portion of the Sweepstakes be, in Sponsor's sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, technical failures or any other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of entries, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Sweepstakes, and select the Winner from entries received prior to action taken or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor.
