Official Rules: North Shore Animal League America’s DogCatemy PetFlix Online Amateur Video Contest

North Shore Animal League America, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non profit, charitable corporation, invites you to enter the DogCatemy PetFlix Online Amateur Video Contest by sending an amateur video of your pet. The Top Ten Finalist Videos will be posted on the League's website (www.animal-league.org/galacontest) and voted on by the public. The Grand Prize Winner will receive an extravagant weekend getaway to NYC. Package includes: two tickets to the League's DogCatemy Awards Gala, a red carpet, celebrity event, two roundtrip airline tickets to NYC from anywhere in the U.S. and a two-night stay at a pet-friendly hotel (package valued at $5,000). The red carpet gala will take place on November 29th, 2007 at Capitale in New York City.

Submission Guidelines: 

 

    1. To enter North Shore Animal League America’s DogCatemy PetFlix Online Amateur Video Contest, contestants must submit their entry at www.animal-league.org/galacontest/talentvideo and provide a link to their video posted on YouTube. Videos should be between 30-seconds and 3 minutes in length.
    2. All submissions must be available on YouTube.com at the time of submission and must remain active at that URL for the entire content submission and judging period.
    3. The submission form must be completed in full by 11:59PM on November 7th, 2007. Posting a video on a YouTube account and submitting a link at www.animal-league.org/galacontest/talentvideo is the only way you may enter videos in this contest. Video clips in any other format will not be accepted. If you don't already have a YouTube account, you can set one up for free at http://www.youtube.com/signup.
    4. Your pet’s activity should in no way compromise the animal’s health, safety or well-being. Videos which display any content that is questionable in this regard will be immediately disqualified, and further action may be taken.
    5. Video clips that are lewd, obscene, pornographic, disparaging of pets or otherwise contain objectionable material may be disqualified at North Shore Animal League America’s sole discretion.
    6. All entries submitted must be original creations. 
    7. Only one video per pet is allowed.


Eligibility: This contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States or District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old at time of entry or the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which the entrant resides, whichever is older. Employees, officers and directors of North Shore Animal League America, and its respective parent, affiliate, and subsidiary, organizations and all of their respective advertising and promotion agencies, agents, and members of the immediate families (spouse, siblings, children, and parents) or households (whether or not related) of any of the stated employees, officers and directors are not eligible to participate. By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of North Shore Animal League America, which shall be final and binding in all matters relating to this contest. Void where prohibited.

Contest Period: The contest begins October 4, 2007. Deadline for all video submissions is November 7, 2007. Winner will be announced on November 15, 2007.

Winner Determination/Judging: The initial entries will be judged by North Shore Animal League America. The Top Ten Finalist Videos will be chosen and displayed on a web gallery at: www.animal-league.org/galacontest from 11-1-07 to 11-14-07.  The Grand Prize Winner will then be chosen by an online poll open to the general public and will be notified and posted online on 11-15-07.

 

  • The 10 most creative videos that showcase your pet’s talents will be chosen by the League’s Panel of Animal Behavior Training Experts to become the “Top Ten Finalist Videos”. Judges will be considering the following criteria: creativity of the video, uniqueness, and difficulty or usefulness of the pet’s display of talent. The Top Ten Finalist Videos will then be posted on the League’s website, and the Grand Prize Winner will be determined though a People’s Choice Online Vote. 
  • Grand Prize Winner will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility.
  • Odds of winning will vary depending upon the number of contestants.
  • Any unclaimed prize automatically becomes the property of North Shore Animal League America and will be used at its own discretion.
  • North Shore Animal League America, Inc. is not responsible for any errors, typographical or otherwise, posted with the submitted content on our website.
  • North Shore Animal League America is not responsible for lost, late or misdirected mail.
  • Any taxes incurred are the responsibility of the recipient and North Shore Animal League accepts no responsibility to pay taxes on the prizes given.
  • To obtain a list the finalists of the Top Ten Finalist Videos, and the Grand Prize Winner, email denisez@nsalamerica.org with “Prizewinners” in the subject line.

 

General Conditions: By participating, entrants release, discharge and agree to hold harmless North Shore Animal League America, Inc. and its respective parent, subsidiary and related organizations, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective employees, officers and directors, representatives and agents, and judges (collectively "Releases"), from and against any and all claims, losses or damages of any kind (whether due to negligence or otherwise), including personal injury, death, and/or property damage, and/or infringement of Intellectual Property rights such as, but not limited to, copyright, trademark/trade name, and/or rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize or participation in this promotion, or participation in any promotion-related activity, and winners, by acceptance of prize, except where legally prohibited, grant permission, in perpetuity, for North Shore Animal League America (and agree to confirm such permission in writing) and those acting pursuant to sponsor's authority to use his/her name, photograph, voice and/or likeness and prize information, as solely determined by North Shore Animal League America for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without further compensation, at any times or time, in all media now known or hereafter discovered world wide and on the Internet and/or World Wide Web without notice or review or approval. Winners, may be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and where lawful a Publicity Release within seven (7) days of notification. If documents are not returned timely, or if a prize notification or a prize is returned as non-deliverable, or if a winner is found to be ineligible or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected in a manner deemed fair and appropriate as solely determined by North Shore Animal League America. Should North Shore Animal League America fail to request the said assignment as stated, that shall not be deemed a waiver of North Shore Animal League America's rights and North Shore Animal League America may at a later time request the transfer and/or assignment, and each winner agrees to comply with any such request.

Prizes: Two tickets to the League's DogCatemy Awards Gala, taking place on November 29th, 2007. Two roundtrip airline tickets to NYC from anywhere in the U.S., a two-night stay at a pet-friendly hotel, and a daily food and transportation stipend. Package valued at $5,000.
