North Shore Animal League America and the New York Mets hosted Dog Day at Shea Saturday, September 23rd at 7:10 p.m. Over 900 Fans and 500 pooches filled the picnic area of Shea Stadium as the New York Mets took on the Washington Nationals.

Dogs and their owners attending the Dog Day at Shea event participated in a pre-game parade around Shea's warning track. They also had a chance to audition for David Letterman's Stupid Pet Tricks. To make the event a true celebration of man's best friend, the League's Rescue Rover mobile adoption unit was parked at the stadium with puppies and dogs in need of a new home. Dog ticket proceeds, as well as a portion of the human tickets will benefit North Shore Animal League America.
