Our Heavenly Dog
North Shore Animal League America is thrilled to give you an update on our heavenly dog, Angel. Though Angel is still recovering from her extremely harrowing ordeal, her progress thus far, is amazing. She has actually surpassed our expectations; and to look at her, you wouldn't believe it's the same dog at all!
When Angel first came into our care, she was emaciated, frightened and practically hairless from a severe case of a skin condition called Demodex. Surprisingly, however, she was just as sweet as could be. Her behavior and temperament were never affected.
To combat Angel's Demodex, she has been getting medicated sulfur baths twice a week and has been on antibiotics, too. As you can see, most of Angel's hair has grown back and her skin is much better. Angel is a petite dog with a hearty appetite and has gained 16lbs. since she's been with us. Now at a healthy 40 lbs., Angel is happier and healthier than we suspect she's ever been.
