Dear Friends,
2008 started off with a wonderfully big bang! North Shore Animal League America has some incredibly big news, and we are excited to share it with YOU, our treasured supporters and dear friends.
After more than a year in our care, a life-saving operation, an adoption contest and winning the hearts of people nation-wide, our most beloved black Labrador boy, Bradley, has finally BEEN ADOPTED!!

A young medical student was browsing in a pet store. He saw an adorable black Labrador puppy that he wanted to adopt, but the pup had already been spoken for. He started chatting with the salesclerk for a while when she suggested that he check out North Shore Animal League America. She told him that we often have black Lab pups here and that we also have special needs animals for him to reach out to.
Later that day, the young man, Elan went on the League's website, looking through the extensive list of dogs and puppies up for adoption. When he came across Bradley's photo, he stopped and couldn't resist clicking on his picture. He expected to see a little biography. But what he didn't expect was to discover so many articles and public campaigns connected to the young dog. He began reading Bradley's various stories, his blog and his campaigns and was hooked on the spot. He knew that it was fate that a young medical student, living at home with his parents who were both doctors, would stumble on this special animal who not only needed a home, but who had a list of needs that he and his family could easily meet. He knew the only thing left was to meet Bradley in person, and he was eager to do so.
The next day, Elan came down to the League with determination and asked specifically for Bradley. The rest, as they say, is history. The two got on wonderfully, and the feelings of love and affection were clearly mutual. After a screening interview, it was discovered that the perfect family finally discovered Bradley. Our boy was going home – we almost couldn't believe it. What better way to start the New Year?
As one of the adoption requirements, Bradley lives locally – Queens, NY. He will visit the League often for checkups and care, and no doubt, will be the highlight of everyone's day when he's here. As part of the Sponsor Program, Bradley's medical expenses will be covered for his lifetime.
Everyone at the League went through a spectrum of emotions as Bradley and his new family drove off. We cried tears of joy and tears of missing as our miracle boy faded into the distance.
The League would like to give a special "thank you" to all of our loyal friends and supporters. Do you realize that everything we've been able to do for Bradley – rescuing him from Tennessee, giving him the operation that saved his life, nurturing him back to health, caring for him everyday, searching for the perfect pet parents and finally giving him the new beginning he deserves – is because of YOUR SUPPORT and DEDICATION?
On behalf of Bradley and all of us here at the League, have a very Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Your Friends at the League

P.S. Bradley has many friends in the Help Me Heal Program. Here, sick animals can get the medical care and attention they desperately need to get better – just like Bradley did. Your continued support of this program makes it possible for Bradley and his friends to have the best medical care possible so that they can finally heal and live out the rest of their lives happy.
Help Bradley and His Friends Heal
P.P.S. Because Bradley's condition is life-long, he will always be part of our Sponsor Program. Here, he and many of his friends can get continued treatment for their permanent conditions paid for by the League. Our pets may leave our facility, but they never leave our care. Your support of the Sponsor Program allows us to care for our sponsored pets forever.
