Join us for North Shore Animal League America's 2009 DogCatemy Celebrity Gala on November 5th. We are delighted to announce the Master of Ceremonies will be Geraldo Rivera. Rivera is one of the most enduring figures in television news, an award-winning reporter, commentator, author and currently senior correspondent and host of Geraldo At Large on FOX News Channel (FNC). Rivera and his family visited the Animal League and they immediately fell in love with a Golden Retriever puppy. Though not a "hound dog," the pup they adopted was affectionately named Elvis.

The Animal League is also delighted to announce that S-Curve Record's recording artist, Diane Birch will perform live at the Gala. Birch took half her lifetime, and traveled across the globe, to get to America, where she literally found her voice and made her remarkable debut, Bible Belt. Birch mixes piano-playing virtuosity with easy-going soul, and she can strike an uplifting groove on even the most melancholy tune.

This "Green Carpet" event will feature a picturesque dog park theme, showcasing the amazing, larger-than-life American Dog sculptures created by metal sculptor Dale Rogers. Proceeds of the sale of these custom-made, limited-edition sculptures will benefit the Animal League.

An expected crowd of 400 people will screen celebrity-made short films starring their pets. Awards will be presented for Best in Show, Best Tail-Waggin' Comedy, Best Musical, Best Dogumentary and Best Pawformance.
