Dear Friends,
Your love and dedication for our treasured animals is so precious. We know that you care about them as much as we do. That is why we pass on information to you about them – whether it is happy or sad. Today, unfortunately, it’s the latter.

It is with much sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved little feisty feline kitten, Lamb Chop. He has passed away and will be greatly missed.
As I’m sure you recall, Lamb Chop came to us with a condition where his chest was concaved and pushing into his lungs, cutting off his breathing. Thanks to the generosity of countless animal lovers, Lamb Chop had undergone corrective surgery to relieve his lungs of this pressure. During this sensitive operation, Lamb Chop had a cardiac arrest – but was able to come back and survive the operation – making it a success. |
One of the Animal League’s Senior Veterinarians fell in love with Lamb Chop and brought him home to foster. Lamb Chop was a very energetic kitten, and his foster mother spent most of her time trying to dissuade him from jumping all over the place – hyper and happy.
When she found that little Lammy had passed one day, she knew that he must have been in a little playtime frenzy – playing very hard – too hard for his little heart to handle. Lammy had another cardiac arrest, and this time, he did not survive.
We are all very sad to lose our dear friend. His personality was tremendous and his heart though fragile was filled with love. Lamb Chop was not only close with all of his human friends and family, but he was also very close to his foster sister, Malomar. Since his passing, Mal has been very sad. She’s been looking for her Lammy everywhere and meowing loudly for her friend.
Thank you for making Lamb Chop’s short life very happy. Please take comfort in that your generous efforts were not in vain. Lamb Chop’s life was filled with love and fun. He was happy every moment of every day – even when he passed on. Though Lamb Chop is gone, his memory will live on in our hearts forever. |

Sincerely,
North Shore Animal League America
