Hi there. My name is Marcus, and I'm just over one year old. Though it may not seem so, I am a very lucky dog. In January, 2007, I was hit by a car while wandering the streets. Sadly, I suffered from lung damage, shock and a broken hind leg. I'm not sure what happened next, but I wound up in Oceanside Animal Hospital. The doctors there tried to contact my owners, but after many failed attempts, they transferred me over to North Shore Animal League America so I could have a chance to find another family to take care of me. The League's Medical Center re-examined me and decided that once my health was strong enough, they would operate on my fractured leg. They said I needed a pin in my leg to help set it. Once it is healed, I'll be put up for adoption. I'm so looking forward to being in a loving home where I can be part of a caring family forever. The folks here at the League are taking really good care of me. Even with my leg all bandaged, I still go for walks and have round the clock visitors and treats. Everyone keeps pampering me and telling me that I'm a good boy. Even with all this attention, I still can't wait to be all healed and ready to go to my new forever home. In the meantime, I'll stay here at the League and dream of all the happiness my future holds. Won't you please consider making a donation so that I, and others like me, can continue to get the medical attention we need to heal?
