Campaign Kicks Off with Festive Pet Adoption Event at LIC Store
October 24, Port Washington, LI, NY – North Shore Animal League America, the world’s largest no kill animal shelter, will kick-off its “Paws To Give Thanks” holiday program with Petland Discounts, America’s largest continuously operating pet supply chain, in its 42nd year of business, with more than 100 stores in the tri-state area.
Petland Discounts’ Long Island City store, at 34-60 48th Street will hold a kick-off event, Friday, November 2nd, 2007 from 3 to 5 PM with a League mobile unit on the premises with adoptable puppies, kittens, dogs and cats. Animal balloon sculptures, affordable microchipping for dogs, free refreshments, and giveaways will highlight the in-store festivities.
In addition, patrons will be invited to post Thanksgiving Messages on League “Paws” which will be displayed in the store, with donations going towards support of the League’s mission to save animals’ lives. The “Paws To Give Thanks” message paws will be available in all Petland Discounts stores for the duration of the holiday season. In addition, animal lovers can visit www.animal-league.org to post their messages on the League website “Paws To Give Thanks” page.
