Dear North Shore Animal League America,
We are always getting letters from the Animal League saying how wonderful we are for sponsoring a pet. We want to tell everyone there that we think YOU are all so wonderful for what you do for these animals.
 |
With one phone call to Karen, the Sponsor Relations Manager, we were able to make the trip to your shelter, not only for a tour of your excellent facility, but we were also blessed to meet with Benji, the dog we sponsor and his foster mom, Ellen.
I can't tell you how much we enjoyed the visit. We left there feeling on top of the world. I wish everyone who sponsors an animal could do what we did. The experience has left us inspired and happy that we can give to help these animals. We were always confident our money helped and now we know just how much it does. |

Autumn's Happy Tail
August 2008 Dear North Shore Animal League America,
Just over a year and a half ago, you rescued me from a kill shelter in Virginia. My five unborn puppies and I were in danger of being destroyed because of the inherent pet overpopulation problem.
I wasn’t in your foster care ward very long before I had my beautiful blue-eyed pups. It was so comforting to have a warm, safe place to have my litter. Giving birth is stressful, but the wonderful Animal League staff made me as comfortable as possible. Their hands were gentle and their hearts sincere.
The staff and doctors at the Animal League are loving, genuine people. It is plain to see that they truly and fully love animals and go to great lengths to protect us. Even people from departments other than the medical center visited us. They cooed at my little ones and paid us all much attention. They gave me treats, took me for walks, and gave me the human affection I was craving.
Those days seem like a long, long time ago. Since then, one of your very own employees adopted me. She brought me to her home, and though I was nervous at first, I was able to quickly warm up to her loving touch and friendly smile. She is the best person I’ve ever known, and I’m sure we’ll be together forever; this she tells me every day.
Even though it’s only been a year and a half, it feels as though we’ve known each other for an entire lifetime. We are completely in tune to one another and we go and do everything together. I always think how she has changed my life so much. I couldn’t be happier, and I’m so very lucky to have her. But you know what? I know that she feels the exact same of me. She told me that I have filled a void in her heart that she had given up on ever filling – a place where her childhood dog lived and died. That is the past now, and the present is overflowing with love and happiness.
|
Thank you for making the both of us happier than we’ve ever imagined possible. If it weren’t for your life-saving mission and passionate resolve, our two stars would never have met. I would not be here today, and my five babies would never have seen the world or experienced the love that I know they’re all getting. And worst of all, my person’s lonely void would still consume her.
For all of this and more – I am truly grateful. |
 |
Sincerely,
Autumn Pellicone
