North Shore Animal League America Declares "CATober The First" as "Purr-fect" Occasion to Recognize Felines' Legacy with Birthday Celebration at Shelter
Over 200 Felines Need Homes; Pet Psychic Patricia Bono to Share Feline Insights
September 22, 2008 Port Washington, NY - For those who lovingly tend to adoptable cats and kittens at North Shore Animal League America, among the most frequent inquiries is "How old is that cat?" While rescuers can determine the cats' approximate ages, in years, for the majority, actual birth dates remain unknown. To give felines their much deserved recognition, the Animal League will hold a kitty birthday party on the first day of the tenth month of 2008, declaring the date, Wednesday, October 1st as CATober The First, a universal birthday for shelter and rescue cats everywhere. To glorify the occasion, the Animal League will introduce a special feline, Queen CATober, one of the more than 200 cats and kittens of all types, ages, shapes and sizes in need of loving homes.
To encourage CATober The First feline adoptions, the Animal League will waive all adoption fees and offer free giveaways, a special CATober The First birthday cake, and refreshments for feline adopters. In addition, adopters will have the opportunity, from 11 AM to 2 PM, to meet Animal Communicator Patricia Bono, who will share her special ability to telepathically connect with the cats and kittens and convey their expressions, feelings, experiences and reactions. Feline adoption fees will continue to be waived throughout the month of October.
North Shore Animal League America is also inviting cat lovers everywhere to actively participate in the CATober The First festivities, They can express birthday wishes to their own beloved furry companions, or even a family member or a neighbor's rescued cat with a specially designed Happy CATober The First e-card greeting. The greetings, with three colorful designs to choose from, can be sent from the Animal League's website www.AnimalLeague.org.
