Each month we'll bring you the latest stories from the foster care unit at the League where Help for Every Little Pet (HELP) is hard at work. You'll find updates on litters of kittens and puppies that have a chance at life - thanks to dedicated supporters of HELP and the associates and volunteers at the League.

Foster Care Unit

Famous model and TV host, Beth Ostrosky, recently made a visit to the League's medical center and the Foster Care Unit. Our Foster Care Unit is home to all of our newborn and preemie puppies and kittens in the HELP program. Beth was fortunate enough to visit during feeding time. "I held a hungry newborn (we named him "Howie"!) in my arms and he eagerly grasped the bottle with his little paws and devoured the whole thing."

Some days, as many as 100 of these baby kittens are in our care - being hand-fed from a bottle. As you can imagine, this is a large task for our medical center. On average, a kitten eats every 4 hours. When 100 kittens are in our care, this can add up to 600 feeding every single day!
